When in Tacoma check them out......

I’m not one to give a shout out to just any place or thing but I have to tell you about a true “Public House” in Tacoma that I came across last month.  It’s called Doyle’s and it’s just above downtown Tacoma near Stadium High School.  I went to watch a Champions League match there and met Russ the owner who seems to be a soccer player and fan of almost unparalleled enthusiasm.   It’s a small quaint place with a distinctive soccer feel  with its loads of soccer jerseys lining the walls (including a Sounders FC jersey), it’s also as the name implies an Irish pub.  The games were fun to watch, 1 game on each of the 2 tv’s and all of the patrons seemed very knowledgeable about football.  The staff was friendly and when in an Irish pub, the Guinness is poured to perfection.  As the games reached halftime I decided it was time to try some of the food, so of course I had to try the Rueben, and man was it good!  I’m no food critic but I have had my share of Rueben’s in my day and this ranks up there with the best of them.  So with just all this I would recommend this place but the real reason I want all my friends to go there is to support a truly great ambassador for the sport of “football” in our community.  Russ supports numerous youth soccer organizations as well as being  the ring leader for the South Sound Supporters Group and rents a bus for every home Sounders game.  And do they travel up I-5 in comfort and style, not to mention you can have a beer before the game if you’d like.  From what he has told me it is one fun way to get to a Sounder game, and a great way for people from Tacoma to support the Sounders (This sounds like something I better check out).   Pretty much anything that supports the beautiful game Russ will be more than happy to help out.  So I say, let’s give back to him as well (21 and over) and the next time you are in Tacoma and you wanna go somewhere else than Mcd’s or Applebees or some generic place like that look him up and have an excellent meal, great beer and great conversation, who knows maybe someday you’ll get a gold plaque on the wall for the 1000 pint club just like Bob……..Cheers Russ for all you do for soccer in the south end!

So many choices for better or worse

Why are there so many different kinds of cleats? Do they do this to confuse us? Do they find joy in giving us so many options that we can't even think straight? So what does all this mean when you are going to buy a shoe? Here's a little insight on what we offer and how it can benefit you.
